SIN
How many people feel like it’s just impossible to serve the Lord because they just can’t stop sinning?
In some perhaps even small way they see where they are sinning in a way which they can’t quit. So they think that they simply would not be able to serve the Lord for he obviously would not want someone who can’t stop doing something which is wrong.
Actually, Christ did not come to save those who can stop doing everything wrong on their own. Christ came to save sinners, of whom you and I are two.
If we are able to stop doing everything that we think is wrong then we are still doing something wrong!!! We are not trusting in the Righteousness of Christ; but in our own righteousness. Because confidence in our own ability to do no sin, is sin.
The fact of reality is that we really have not capacity to do no evil. The only way we can be free from sin is by Faith of Jesus Christ. By having confidence that He was able to live a sin free life and was then able to deliver that sinlessness to the person who trusts in what He accomplished at Calvary. Praise the Lord, for we could not, can not, would not, will not ever within our own abilities be able to bring ourselves into a sinless, righteous, justifiable, sanctified, holy condition.
I testify again to every man who is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole Law (Gal. 5:3).
Why did the Holy Spirit include this verse of Scripture in the Bible? Was it because circumcision was to be a devastating problem for you and me and the people of this generation. No. It is an example of a Law (a law which they were being persuaded to keep, as a means of being right with God) which can not give righteousness. For if Righteousness come by the Law then Christ is dead in vain (Gal. 2:21). Permit me to add, if Righteousness come by my works then Christ’s works we in vain. Actually if Righteousness come by anything I can do or accomplish, then what Christ did and what He accomplished would have been of no value.
But Praise the Lord, what Christ accomplished was of the greatest value of anything I can think of.
