THANKS

My Grand daughters, who used to live a hop, skip, and a jump from us have now move to Florida. To say I miss them is an extreme understatement.
However, the Lord has blessed me with many wonderful memories of those precious little souls. Of the times when they were my next door neighbors and were my companions nearly constantly.
One of the fond memories I have of these little girls is the times we would go shopping together. I may have just been going to the store for a few groceries but invariably they would want something for themselves. Sometimes I might have a little extra money and we would check out the toy section to see what they would like.
Upon purchasing their momentary hearts desire, sometimes, "they would thank me," and sometimes they would just start playing with their new toy, oblivious to the possibility of showing appreciation for what they had just received. I still loved them, even if they didn't thank me but it gladdened my heart when they showed their appreciation by saying, "thank you."

There is an occasion in the Gospel of Luke that rather reminds me of these occasions with my Grand daughters.
In Luke, the 17th chapter, Jesus is met by ten lepers who lifted up their voices and said Master have mercy on us. Praise the Lord, they knew where to look for help. Jesus told them to go and show themselves unto the priests (which was the law for a leper who thought their leprosy had been healed), as they were on their way, they were cleansed.
One of the lepers, upon seeing that he was cleansed, stopped, to return and give glory to God and Thank Jesus for healing him. Jesus said, "were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found who returned to give glory to God , save this stranger (for he was a Samaritan).
Perhaps it could be said, "the other nine were so intent on doing what He told them to do, that they took no time to thank Him for what He had done for them."
Is this not sometimes typical of many people who are of the Faith of Christ today?
We are many times so busy doing things (even good things which are perhaps needful to be done), that we don't take time each day to return to the one who redeemed us by His Own Blood, and give Him thanks.
